Dr Brent Burket has joined the KLMC Team as of January 26, 2026, and Dr Jennifer Thoene will join us in March.

Dr Lando will be leaving KLMC as of Friday, February 13, 2026. He has made the decision to return to Australia.

For all patients, who have given us their email addresses, you will have received notification regarding this. For those patients that have not received notification, with your next appointment booking, you will be offered an attachment to one of our other practitioners.

Dr Lando’s patients, who choose to, will remain patients of Kootenay Lake Medical Clinic. We hope to make the transition from Dr Lando to either of our two new physicians, as seamless as possible for all.

Nurse Practitioner, Joy Ferguson will be leaving Kootenay Lake Medical Clinic and moving her practice to Castlegar Medical Associates as of June 1, 2026.

Joy welcomes patients who wish to continue under her care to join her at this new location, but realizes that patients may choose to stay at KLMC and transition to either Dr Burket or Dr Thoene.

For all Joy’s patients, who have given us their email addresses, you will be notified. Should you decide to stay at KLMC, you must notify the clinic of your decision. With your next appointment booking, you will be offered an attachment to one of our new practitioners.

Both Drs Burket and Thoene, come with years of experience as Family Physicians, and have made the decision to move to Nelson permanently from Oregon. We are very excited to have them join our KLMC Team.
